It would be a much-awaited vacation to Meghalaya that brought that brings people down to this happy place, Nongriat- a village in the East Khasi Hills of North East India.
The village would be in every visitor’s itinerary because it is special in many ways
- There are no roads to connect it to the nearby city. One has to trek down 2500 steps in order to reach this heaven!
- Its a village surrounded by mountains in the middle of a jungle!
- The scenic routes with adventurous Wire Bridges are always tempting!
- It’s home to some of the most amazing Root Bridges of the world!
I am pretty sure that you guys are aware it is the home of the amazing root bridges, but there is a lot to know about the benevolence of nature and its people. Within just a day in the village, you will have an urge to extend your stay in the village!
And if you are an adventure freak, you can explore some of these amazing creations of nature.
I agree that all of these would be great experiences but what would strike you the most would be the people in the village- the goodness in them. I had a few special moments there in the village which somehow made the village close to my heart, so would you!
And after the brief stay, while you are leaving, you would definetely wish to give something in return for the kind-hearted people.
I had such a wish and money was my first choice. But I wanted to give something really big & worthy in return for their benevelonce. And thus I had started writing a book with an intention of making it a lovable, life-changing story about the village- something that could be a bestseller, then raise money selling it. That is how the story Franky was born.
