Jungle always amazes me.
Especially the fact that the thick green jungle that I see around is the result of a dream- the dream of an infinitesimally small, primitive, brainless, Microorganism called cyanobacteria that took its birth millions of years and that too somewhere far away in the huge salty blue ocean!
Cyanobacteria- the first organism that was capable of photosynthesis- capable of producing oxygen!
I always wonder- back then, wouldn’t the dream of populating the mighty earth with greenery be a little too much for such a tiny microorganism that lived in the deep oceans!
If it was me who was the first cyanobacteria, I would never have cultivated such an impossible dream- it would be just considered an utter waste of time! I would myself believe that I am never capable of incubating such a great vision just because of the assumption that I lack the will to act consistently for millions of years.
But the primitive, tiny, brainless organism made it happen- first it multiplied itself and started filling the atmosphere with the essence of life- Oxygen, a gradual process that took millenniums! And then it was the smart move, the smartest one I would say- to convert some of that oxygen into ozone so that a layer could be created to restrict certain radiations that was resisting life!
Once this was achieved slowly they started moving from the deep oceans to the shore. And after many more millenniums, life was formed near the sea.
But the microorganisms with a mighty will never stopped, it aimed and focused on becoming tall trees that could provide shade, a healthy environment with enough moisture that favored other forms of life. The leaves from those trees made the forest fertile and thus life thrived.
At this point the surroundings became inspired by the microorganism and its herculean will- they realized that the tiny organism knew the way, was always on the way and would show the way! They came up with their willingness in helping it to make his vision come true. Some never waited for the orders, like the cyanobacteria it knew what was to be done. The rivers were one of such kind, they carried these organic materials down the land thereby spreading greenery.
Now since there was both pure water and greenery in the land, species other than plants started to come up.
And the Brainless genius made the best use of them too. By luring them with their tasty nectar and fruits the insects, birds and animals were forced to be part of the vision.
Everyone loved the leadership- because it was not reluctant to give everything it has; the genius knew that giving will help it grow! The intelligent moves would never end.
By allowing life in the treetops, the microorganism helped not just to save themselves from the predators, but to adapt and improve their eyesight and have a developed brain,
To ultimately become a human! The great vision of a bacteria that gave birth to me! And it all became possible because of the will to act, a will that exists as an active node in its genes even after Millions of years.
Can’t believe? Take the example of roots- they dare to go even into the darkness avoiding the sun, in search of water and nutrients. They are too strong that they would survive on edges of a cliff piercing rocks and holding onto it firmly. Like the bacteria, they are so very sure of where it has to go and always has the courage to follow it even if it is out into the darkness
Even the jungle- it is always alive, filled with beautiful sounds, whether it be gurgling of the water or the murmurings of insects or chirruping birds or growling animals, it’s always active, alert and ready to act.
I want to be the cyanobacteria with a mind like the jungle- One that would never be silent! And I will be; because I believe it’s the same Will that is running in my blood!
